Mindy Green

Thirty-five years of experience in the natural products and health care industries, make Mindy Green a genuine, national authority on botanicals.
Mindy recently left her position at Aveda Corporation (2003-2009), where she worked in the botanical research division of R&D as their clinical aromatherapist. Prior to Aveda, she founded and owned several herb and essential oil businesses. She now runs her own consulting company, Green Scentsations, LLC.
Mindy is a founding member of the American Herbalists Guild and an associate editor of the American Herb Association Newsletter. From 1995 to 2003 she was on the faculty of the Rocky Mountain Center for Botanical Studies, and she co-owned the California School of Herbal Studies from 1985 to 1995. She is a nationally certified Registered Aromatherapist and has served on the education committees of the National Association of Holistic Aromatherapists and the Aromatherapy Registration Council. As a consultant and national speaker, she has credentials in botany, aromatherapy and cosmetics. She is committee chair for Botanicals in Cosmetics, within the American Herb Products Association and on the Cosmeceuticals Scientific Advisory Board for the Supply Side West trade show and conference.
The third industry in Mindy’s natural-products triad is healthcare and wellness. Her dedication and leadership are reflected in her position on the governing advisory board of the American College of Healthcare Sciences; as an ongoing guest speaker for Andrew Weil’s integrative medicine program in Arizona where she lectures on the integration of essential oils into a medical practice; and her position as Program Specialist at the Integrative Resource Center of Anschutes Cancer Center, at University of Colorado Hospital in 2002 and 2003 where she developed specialized education programs and associated resources on complementary therapies. Prior to that position, she served as Director of Education and Director of Research for the medical library of Herb Research Foundation from 1995 to 2001.
A prolific writer and lecturer, Mindy has authored over 40 magazine articles on botanicals and skin care. She is co-author of Aromatherapy, A Complete Guide to the Healing Art; author of Calendula and Natural Perfumes, and has contributed to numerous books on herbal therapies. She conducts seminars and training programs across the country on complementary health care. She has been interviewed more than 400 times by leading magazines and newspapers as a botanical-therapies expert.
Mindy holds a bachelor’s degree in Holistic Health Sciences and a master’s in Health and Human Services from Columbia Pacific University. From Purdue University she received extensive training in the advanced uses of essential oils.
It is Mindy’s philosophy that individual health translates into global health. “What we do through our choices of eating and medicines directly affects the health of the planet,” says Mindy. She is a long-time environmental activist and a board member for the non-profit organization United Plant Savers, where she contributes to a wider awareness of how plants create health for us all, globally and individually.
